SiriusXT is delighted to to be a partner in project Everest, and EU-funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA-SE) whose aim is to revolutionize biomedical research by exploring the potential of extracellular vesicles (EVs)!

The Everest project networks SiriusXT with key European Organisations involved in EV research. EVs play a pivotal role in intercellular communication by transporting bioactive molecules such as proteins, lipids and nucleic acids between cells. This intrinsic ability to shuttle diverse cargo has garnered significant interesting utilizing EVs as nanocarriers for delivering vaccines and therapeutics to specific cellular targets. SiriusXT will use project Everest to demonstrate how its SXT-100 soft x-ray microscope for the laboratory can be used to track and validate the precise location of EVs in cells, accelerating the development of new drugs, gene therapies and vaccines.

Thank you to professor Brendan Kennedy and Dr Yolanda Alvarez Teruel at University College Dublin for their hard work in putting this consortium together and for leading the project application!
