Researchers from the Ocular Therapeutics Research Group in South East Technological University (SETU) have secured the prestigious INNOVISION COFUND, a €3.1 million collaborative research programme focused on addressing the global challenges of ocular disease and sight loss.
Led by Prof. Laurence Fitzhenry, Principal Investigator of the Ocular Therapeutics Research Group (OTRG) in the Pharmaceutical Molecular Biotechnology Research Centre (PMBRC), and OTRG Research Group Manager, Tess Ames, INNOVISION brings together a world-class network of partners.
SiriusXT’s SXT-100 soft X-ray microscope enables non-destructive, nanometre-resolution imaging of entire cells or tissues, revealing both nanoparticle location and cellular ultrastructure. This makes it ideal for validating targeted nanoparticle delivery and studying nanoparticle–cell interactions. We look forward to working with INNOVISION Partners in demonstrating the power of the SXT-100 to track therapeutic delivery and assess structural effects in intact in-vitro eye models.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND scheme (Grant Agreement No. 101217199).
